Butterfly Tenergy 64

Butterfly Tenergy 64 has the best speed of the series and is really made for people who need power for mid-distance or away from the table rallies.  This is what Mizutani uses on both sides of his Jun Mizutani zylon carbon blade.  You can find hundreds of videos of him playing away from the table this way.

When looking at Jun's survey data of the tenergy 64, we can see this table tennis rubber excells clearly at 5 factors more than  the other Tenergies. They are Blocking, power, driving from mid-distance, short pushing and the highest spin on short pushes.  So we have already discussed the obvious: power and driving from mid-distance.  I am a little suprised that tenergy 64 is the best at blocking, but totally astonished that tenergy 64 is the best rubber for short pushing and with the best spin. 

Blocking with Tenergy 64

The worst score for blocking was tenergy 25.  I imagine that it  is because tenergy 25 has the lowest throw angle and is the fastest at the table which gives it a small window or choice where you can block the ball to, at the table.  Tenergy 05 which although scored high for blocking was not perfect compared to tenergy 64.  I imagine this maybe because tenergy 64 is better at flat hitting or punching at the table, but I am not sure about this, I think we need more thoughts about this point.

Pushing with Tenergy 64

I would have thought Tenergy 25 would be the best at pushing, but it is actually the worst of the Tenergy series.  Tenergy 25 is the best attacking at the table, but not for short pushing according to Jun.  I wonder if tenergy 64 is so good at pushing because it is the least dense topsheet.  But all the same I would imagine that tenergy 64 being the most bouncy would be the worst for short play.  More thought needed here.
