What's the deal with tenergy and the timo boll spirit blade? The Timo Boll Spirit is the same as the more expensive Boll ALC. Butterfly changed the colour and put out more advertising.
Hopefully "higharc" the guy in the black shirt won't take down his video in which he is using tenergy 05 on his forhand and tenergy 64 on his backhand on a timo boll spirit blade you can see above. You can see the kind of arc and speed that this table tennis equipment combination has very clearly in this video.
timo boll spirit tenergy
Apart from Timo Boll using tenergy and also having used this - his own signature blade; butterfly made; Timo Boll Spirit, there are hundreds of table tennis players using this combination. Yes Timo Boll changed to Boll ALC which is almost totally the same blade just with different colours.
The Timo boll spirit blade is also an arylate carbon blade. With tenergy this ALC gives an amazing controlled offensive game with real power and control. This combination is not for the light hearted though. It weighs in quite heavily.
These are just some of the big table tennis names using Butterfly tenergy on the Butterfly Timo Boll arylate carbon ALC.

timo boll spirit
ive just started to use this combo on my backhand and im on my 4th tenergy 05 rubber. I love the dwell time with this blade as opposed to faster blades like gergley 21. Its very easier to loop chop yet the blade still has all the power i need from a mid table position. I think the combination is light compared to what i have been using to the point where it took some time to get my timing right
Im not qualified to offer an actual review yet, but i will give it a go when i have played with it some more.
signature timo boll
I would love to get a real signature of timo boll on a timo boll blade.
you seem to keep refering back to chop, have you had trouble with this before? I love my chop and find chop no problem with most blades or rubbers, I do, on the other hand, find no spin much harder to deal with, especially varied paces to the elbow.
I am looking forward to your review.

chop
i confess i have never been great a looping chop on my forehand (really crap through poor footwork) and as a result all i usually get is chop to my forehand. Out of frustration i even went to short pimple and simply hit through it if its at all high. It works and worked very well for my "bitch slap" technique, but you develop poor footwork and technique which im trying to address now. i dont want to just plateau and the beauty of table tennis is you can always try and improve somewhere. I dont mind chop to set things up, but it bores me senseless and the sooner i can loop out of it consistently on both sides the happier i will be.
think its going to be a long road though but im starting tonight. No spin with a short pimple rubber on my crappy flat forehand was a breeze...going to be a lot harder for me now though i suspect!
I think I know who you are now
I remember playing you at the far end court of the BTTA, it is easy to remember when there are only a handful of players who use inverted on the backhand and pips on the forehand.
Yes it is quite effective, and love the terminology: Bitch Slap,... haha

timo boll spirit
Got my new tenergy 05 rubber 1.9mm from the standard australian places online, cost me $95 delivered which i thought was ok as i wasnt smart enough to join this site earlier and get a quote, or a least some information. A SAVING of 30% is massive people...look into getting a quote and the right info before you buy!!!!!
Anyway, i have always had 2.1mm and i HATE THIS SLOW RUBBER in comparison to it. Cant believe i let the guy talk me into it. You have to hit the edges if you want a similar kick and its easy to block as a result i found out last night.
Please inform the good members of this forum your thoughts on the 1.9mm 05 rubber as perhaps we may disagree on its value. I will try in on my forehand as its retarded after using short pimple for a year but id honestly throw it away if i didnt pay $95 bucks for it!
might be useful if you are developing your game on one side, or dont want the power and spin the 2.1mm provides or simply want more control or whatever as some professionals use it i imagine, but its not for me on my backhand.
butterfly timo boll tenergy 05
This is a good table tennis paddle combination: butterfly timo boll tenergy 05. Butterfly blade with butterfly rubber is not always the best but you can not go wrong with what so many people have agreed to being a winning combination.
timo boll spirit tenergy chop
Hey BarkJ have you got the backhand loop against chop with your timo boll spirit tenergy yet?
